Our partner network, the Network for Emotional Well-Being, hosted a workshop, New Perspectives on the Biology of Emotional Well-Being: Illuminating the Unseen, at the University of California, San Francisco last November.
This dynamic event brought together leading experts exploring emotional well-being through diverse biological lenses, including genomics, the microbiome, mitochondria, and brain plasticity.
Sessions and speakers included:
Omics and Emotional Well-Being: Mieke Bartels, Zachary Nagel, Andrew Steptoe
Microbiome and Emotional Well-Being: Jo Handelsman, Emeran Mayer
Mitochondria and Emotional Well-Being: Martin Picard, Caroline Trumpff
Brain Plasticity and Emotional Well-Being: Feng Vankee Lin, Brian Knutson, Robin Carhart-Harris
The workshop highlighted emerging biological pathways that shape emotional well-being and fostered rich, collaborative discussions about future research directions.
The full proceedings from this workshop are now available below.
